Trip Code Requirements & Best Practices

When creating a trip, you’ll be asked to create a trip code. Trip codes will look something like this.

This code will be vital for your passengers if the system requires it to locate their specific trip. You as the administrator can also set up your trip so that every passenger must provide the trip code before they can register. Here are a few requirements and best practices regarding trip codes:

  • Must be at least 6 characters long
  • We recommend keeping it under 10 characters
  • Spaces, numbers, and symbols can be utilized but again, we recommend keeping it simple!

You'll be taken to the Create New Trip Page to fill out your trip details. You'll create the trip code by typing in the editable part of the registration link section. Be aware that you will not be able to change the trip code after creating it here and saving.

Best Practices & Suggestions

To make a great trip code, you can use an abbreviation for your group, the destination, and the year the trip is happening. In the example above, we have the Happy Campers going to Tennessee in June 2024, the trip code we used is HCTN24. Short and sweet, unique, and easy for our passengers to use when they register!

Once you are done filling out all your trip details on the Create New Trip page, make sure to click Save Trip. Then, you'll immediately be brought to the Packages and Add-ons page to continue your trip set up.

If you ever need to find your Trip Code, it's located on your trip Dashboard:

Make sure to send out your trip code with your registration link so your passengers have it in case it's needed.
