Can I Still Buy Trip Protection After Registering For My Trip?
Yes, in some cases you can buy a trip protection policy even if you declined while registering. However, there may be restrictions depending on when you registered and your date of departure.
To check your trip protection options, log in to your account to access your passenger dashboard. Check out the section titled Trip protection in the middle of the screen, then click on the pencil icon to the right to review your options.
On the next page, you'll see your options for trip protection policies. Some things to note:
- If you paid your deposit MORE than 14 days ago, a Standard Protection policy will be your only remaining option.
- If you're returning to add trip protection LESS than 14 days after paying your deposit, you may purchase an Enhanced Protection policy as well.
- If you're attempting to purchase trip protection less than 2 days before your trip departure, the trip is no longer eligible to be protected with a trip insurance policy.
Select your trip protection and click Save.
You'll be taken back to your passenger dashboard. You should see that your trip protection selection has been updated and that you have a new or increased balance to pay. Click the Go to payment button to pay for the trip protection policy you just selected. Note: your trip protection policy will not go into effect until it is paid for.
On the next screen
- Select what amount to pay.
- Click Next
As previously mentioned, your trip protection policy will not go into effect until it is paid in full.
On the checkout screen, verify the amount, fees, and total, then click Pay.
