How Do My Passengers Make Their First Payment?
Congrats! You have users and passengers registering for your trip and now it's time for them to make their first trip payments. Currently, we offer multiple payment methods such as connecting directly with a checking account or paying by credit card.
For trips that are set up to mark passengers confirmed after they've made their first payment, your users will be prompted to connect a payment method and make their first payment near the end of the registration process when they arrive at the Choose payment method screen.
They'll see multiple options:
- US bank account: this is how they connect directly to a checking account
- Card: this is how they pay with a credit card
Steps for using a bank account:
- Enter the full name of the bank account owner.
- Enter the name of the banking institution (i.e.: Wells Fargo or Bank of America) and select it from the drop-down list (if their bank isn't listed, it's ok!)
- Click the Save button
Next, they'll see a pop-up screen that shows information about the payment processor this platform uses: Stripe. Click the Agree and continue button to proceed.
Then they'll select one of their eligible bank accounts and proceed to the payment screen.
Next, they'll see the Checkout page. They'll be prompted to pay the deposit amount. Once they review and are ready to execute the transaction, they can click the Pay button to proceed.
Next, they' ll see the Payment receipt page. They can review the information and click Done to return back to the trip dashboard.
NOTE: the highlighted segment near the bottom of the screen is how this transaction will show on their bank statement. This is to familiarize users with how the transaction will appear and prevent disputed transactions.
They will also receive an email with the same information for their records.
Steps For Paying With A Credit Card
Users also have the option of paying with a credit card. All major credit cards are accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc. This process is easy to navigate and very similar to paying with a bank account.
- Enter full name of the card holder
- Select Card payment method
- Enter the card number, Expiration, CVC, Country, and Zip
- Click "Save"
Next, they'll see the Checkout page. They'll be prompted to pay the deposit. Once they've reviewed and are ready to execute the transaction, click the Pay button to proceed.
Next, you' ll see the Payment receipt page. They'll review the information and click the Done button to return back to the trip dashboard.

First Payment Made!
This user or passenger has successfully made their first payment! Advise them to review their payment timeline from the passenger dashboard to confirm previous and upcoming payments, and start preparing for that trip of a lifetime! Also, remind them to review their payment method information and the amount before submitting any payments.
