How Do I Create An Insurance-Only Trip In GroupCollect?

'GroupCollect can be used as a registration-only platform where the only thing passengers pay for online is trip insurance. This is referred to as an insurance-only trip. Check out this video to get an overview of insurance-only trips and how to set them up:

How To Setup An Insurance-only Trip

First, add basic trip information like destination and dates. In the section titled Mark Passenger As Confirmed, select the option After Required Info is Added (No Deposit or Billing Required).

Then in the next section titled Allow Passengers To Pay For, select Only Trip Protection

Don't forget to set your green toggle switch to offer trip protection and save your trip.

Create A Trip Package

Next, you'll need to create at least one trip package for passengers to select while registering.

Create A Payment Schedule

Even though passengers will not be paying online, you'll still need to create a payment schedule for this trip in GroupCollect in order for trip insurance to still be offered.

What Will Passengers See?

After selecting a package, passengers will be taken to this page that is unique to insurance-only groups. It will ask them to manually enter the date they paid their deposit. This information is important because if the deposit was paid more than 14 days from the time they are purchasing trip insurance, the enhanced trip protection product will no longer be an option.

Passengers can temporarily skip this question while registering, but they'll have to answer it before being able to purchase and activate a trip insurance policy.

After answering the question on deposit payment, the passenger will select their trip insurance product

Then they'll be taken to their passenger dashboard which will indicate that the trip insurance policy is inactive- that's because it needs to be paid for! Passengers will simply, click to add a form of payment and then pay for the cost of the trip insurance policy they selected

Can Passengers Pay For Trip Insurance With Cash Or A Bulk Credit?

Yes! As long as you as the administrator go into the passengers account and add the amount for the cash payment or bulk credit. That means if you credit the passengers account, and that amount surpasses the cost of the trip insurance product the passenger selects, then the policy could be activated without the passenger needing to make an online payment.
